Samantha joined our team in 2015 and has spent more than 13 years in the field, with 5 being in management. She is Fear Free Certified and attends multiple CE conferences for practice management annually. Samantha is motivated knowing that she and the rest of the Fox Animal Hospital team can make the lives of their patients and clients better. She and her husband Anthony have one cat, a "foster failure" named Bernadette. One of Samantha's specialties is feeding and fostering newborn kittens, but she also enjoys traveling and cooking.
Esther is our senior surgical veterinary technician. She attended Parkland College in Champaign, Illinois where she earned an associate degree in Veterinary Technology. Growing up on a farm, Esther has always been surrounded by animals. Aside from dogs and cats, she also loves horses. She counts walking thoroughbreds as one of her favorite activities. She recently rescued a retired racehorse, and enjoys spending 'therapy time' with her. When not at work, Esther enjoys traveling, cooking and spending time with her husband, Scott, and her dog Nebbio, and horse Moon.
Lisa couldn't have pets as a kid, so she started volunteering at shelters and worked her way up to becoming a technician. She now has a four-legged companion, a Dachshund named Adia, and enjoys rock climbing, mountain biking, and international travel in her free time.
Elyssa comes to us with an interesting background! She earned her Juris Doctor degree from Southwestern Law School, but chose to forego a career in law. Instead, she chose to follow her passion for veterinary medicine and we couldn’t be happier that she did! Elyssa finds that the most rewarding part of her position is working with and getting to know all of the animals we see!
Tacoma is one of our certified veterinary technicians. She started working here in June 2017. She loves spending time with her daughter. They also have two dogs at home named Diva and Heavy.
Cindy graduated from Indiana University with a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education. She has always loved animals and wanted to work with them. Throughout her career, she’s had a job in a pet store (when she was 13), one in a veterinary office, and one in an emergency animal hospital! The most rewarding part of her career has been able to help so many families and their beloved pets, especially through her work in emergency medicine.
Cindy is married to her wife, Patty, who also works in the veterinary field as a technician. Together, they have five dogs: Metzli (a Belgium Malinois), Zander (a Dutch Shepherd), Odie (a Puggle), Tobie (a Terrier mix) and Mango (a Rat Terrier); and four cats: Cezanne (a domestic long hair); Loki (a domestic shorthair/Siamese mix); Nutmeg (a domestic shorthair); and Otter (a domestic shorthair). One of her greatest life accomplishments has been marrying her wife. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, scrapbooking, gardening, and enjoying nature. In fact, she loves Yellowstone National Park, and makes it a point to go there every other year!
Like many of us who chose veterinary medicine as a career, Donna has loved animals for as long as she can remember. In addition to working at Fox Animal Hospital, she also devotes her time at a nearby emergency clinic. While she does not have any furry family members, Donna does have a ball python named Padme that she rescued from Friends of Scales Reptile Rescue. In her free time, she reads and watches sports (“Go Cubs!”).
Natalia has been working as a vet tech for over four years, and she is currently pursuing her CVT license at Penn Foster. As far back as she can remember, Natalia has felt a deep love and compassion for animals. Growing up in Colombia and traveling all over the world at a young age allowed for experiences with many different species that she would not otherwise have had. The decision to invest herself in veterinary medicine came from her passion for the well-being of animals and the responsibility she feels to take care of our creatures with patience and respect. She truly feels fulfilled to play a part in the health and happiness of pets.
Natalia currently has two fur kiddos named Sammy, an orange longhaired tabby, and Ralph a Scarlet Macaw. Ralph seems to share Natalia’s obsession with dancing (among other things) and will rock out with her often! Additional hobbies of hers include cooking, exploring the outdoors, traveling, swimming, and reading. She may or may not also be a huge movie buff.
Samantha has two bachelor's degrees in criminal justice and psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University and she is currently continuing her education by working on a third bachelor's online in the field of investigative forensics at the University of Maryland.
She moved from Virginia in 2016 to start a career in the veterinary field as a veterinary assistant. After 1 and a half years in that role, she moved to a new hospital to train as a veterinary technician. From there, Samantha came to Fox Animal Hospital to further her experience and skills. Animals have always been a constant in her life, and even though she works with cats and dogs every day, she still gets excited when she sees a new furry face!
The most rewarding part of her career has been helping sick animals become healthy and seeing the improvement in their quality of life that excellent veterinary care can provide. She loves being a part of the effort in helping animals achieve happiness and health.
Samantha lives with her boyfriend, Travis, who is also a veterinary technician. Together, they have two cats named Biscuit (an orange male) and Pico de Gato, a black short hair. Outside of work, she loves cooking, watching true crime documentaries, and exploring the city! One fun fact about Samantha is she's the only 30-year-old she knows who has never had a driver's license!
