Dr. Robert Fox practiced small animal medicine in the North Shore area since his graduation from the University of Illinois School of Veterinary Medicine in 1983. In 1996, he opened Fox Animal Hospital and retired in 2017. He was known for his gentleness, compassion, and care for the animals he treated. He was well-loved by his clients as he understood the place pets hold in the hearts of their owners. Among the numerous pets he owned were Claire and Emily, the Great Danes. He became known as the Great Dane doctor around town.
He enjoyed traveling to Australia every year to visit his wife’s family. He would make side trips to Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, China and Hong Kong. Bob loved music, particularly rock and “big hair bands”. He was an excellent guitarist. Among his friends and family, he was well known for his sense of humor and wicked wit.
Upon retirement in 2017, Bob and his wife moved to Katy, Texas to be closer to his daughters and their families. Bob passed away on April 29, 2023. He is dearly missed by all whose lives he touched in his 70 years. We are grateful he opened Fox Animal Hospital and passed along this wonderful place where we can continue to provide excellent, compassionate care to our Fox Families and their pets.
